EuroGOOS Glider Task Team and EU projects GROOM II and EuroSea organize this workshop to discuss data management in the context of ocean gliders. Since the last international data management meeting in Genova five years ago, the glider community has continuously grown in Europe and self-organized to provide glider data in real time to the ocean science community. Since then, the number of available data sets at the Glider Global Data Assembly Centre has grown significantly. This workshop is an important milestone to design together a road map for glider data management in Europe.
The workshop sessions will address various aspects of glider data management:
- Introduction to the OceanGliders Github repository;
- Metadata management and controlled vocabularies;
- Real Time data management of Temperature and Salinity, Chlorophyll-a, and Oxygen;
- Real Time quality control – toward harmonization in Europe.
