Towards a regional ocean observing system for the Black Sea

EuroGOOS has initiated a meeting with the Black Sea partners to discuss the state of play and the cooperation challenges and opportunities in the region. The meeting will aim to:

• Gain an understanding of the Black Sea observing system current status;
• Summarise the current ocean forecasting capability in the Black Sea;
• Consider the sustainability of the observing and forecasting system;
• Consider next steps in developing the operational oceanography capability in the Black Sea.
