AMRIT
On Wednesday afternoon, after a lunch break, DMI will host an AMRIT workshop, ending at 4 PM. The sign-up for this is in same registration form.
On AMRIT:
“The AMRIT (Advance Marine Research Infrastructures Together) project provides a catalyst for the development and consolidation of marine research infrastructures (MRIs) throughout Europe, including coordination of planning, operations and data management. The project will contribute significantly to the development of the European Ocean Observing System (EOOS). AMRIT aims to be a cornerstone in establishing and maintaining the EOOS, upon which European ocean observing can be strengthened in the coming decades.
AMRIT builds on the achievements of many years of European marine research infrastructure projects and other initiatives, bringing together major infrastructures and ERICS, to develop various tools and services to support ocean observing operations in Europe and beyond. These include an online dashboard for monitoring operations and performance of MRIs (including interactive map, notification services, data/metadata flow mapping and other features), overarching APIs for metadata exchange, aligned controlled vocabularies and ontologies between MRIs, and other operational and data support services. AMRIT tools and services will be sustained in an EOOS Technical Support Centre (EOOS TSC), including a helpdesk, ensuring access and support for MRI operators in Europe and beyond into the future.
This workshop will provide an opportunity for input to the design and development of the operational tools and services AMRIT will develop from the NOOS community. AMRIT developers will present current plans and participants will be able to share their needs AMRIT can potentially help to address. Region-specific input from the North West European Shelf community is particularly welcome along with broader needs from MRI operators and others.”
