GlobalHAB symposium on automated in situ observations of plankton

Date
22/08/2022 - 26/08/2022

The international program Global Harmful Algal Blooms (GlobalHAB), sponsored jointly by the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO will hold a symposium on automated in situ observations of plankton from the 22-26 August 2022. The symposium will bring together experts and users to present methods, recent results and to share experiences.

The symposium is highly relevant to the activities of the EuroGOOS Biological Observations Working Group which part of its focus is standardisation and SOPs for imaging and evaluation of these data contribution to EOVs (Essential Ocean Variable) and EBVs (Essential Biodiversity Variables). The symposium represents an opportunity for finding synergies and potential for collaboration between GlobalHABS program and EuroGOOS BIOWG.
