The EGU General Assembly 2016 brings together geoscientists from all over the world to one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, planetary and space sciences. EuroGOOS will take part in two sessions this year.
Wednesday 20 April: Informatics in Oceanography and Ocean Science (including Ian McHarg Medal Lecture) Convener: Giuseppe M.R. Manzella, co-convener: Dick M. A. Schaap
The session will feature the activities and data portas from the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) and highlight some of the main challenges for marine data management in Europe and beyond. See the workshop page on the EC maritime forum.

Friday 22 April: The Networks of Earth Observation, its coordination and their infrastructures to enhance international geoscience information access, provision and use Convener: Joan Masó
Different observation networks are providing important datasets for different geosciencies. This session will presents efforts to harmonize and coordinate those initiatives. EuroGOOS will deliver a talk on the European Ocean Observing System, EOOS .
