EuroGOOS will be represented at the All-Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance 2022 Forum, a yearly event bringing together signatories of the Galway Statement (Canada-EU-US), Belem Statement (Brazil-EU-South Africa), and additional partners (Argentina, Cabo Verde, Morocco, others) to further scientific research and cooperation in the Atlantic Basin.
The fifth edition of the Forum will be co-hosted by the U.S. and Brazil in summer 2022 and will consist of two components:
- The Scientific & Technical Sessions from May 31-June 2 in Brasilia (online), will focus on technical/scientific meetings and side events amongst the All-Atlantic community. Outcomes from the Scientific Event will be highlighted at the Ministerial-level Forum in Washington,
- On July 12-14 (in-person in D.C. and streamed live), which will also feature ministerial interventions and the signing of the All-Atlantic Ocean Research & Innovation Alliance Declaration.
Signatories will include representatives from Argentina, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Canada, the European Union, Morocco, South Africa, and the United States. The Declaration outlines the vision of the All-Atlantic and will build upon collaboration between existing initiatives in the Atlantic basin on ocean research and innovation.
