FerryBox Workshops are organized already since 2005 to share experiences and knowledge about operational oceanography and autonomous observation systems.
The Workshop in Helsinki in 2024 is the 12th, and will consist of oral and poster presentations by the attendees, as well as discussions on topics covering physical, chemical and biological observations in the sea.
Oral and poster presentations are welcome! Please use the registration form for submitting your presentation title, authors, and abstract. The scientific committee (see below) will select the final set of oral presentations to the sessions.
In addition to the main workshop, an EU-funded project MINKE will organize two additional metrology-related sessions adjacent to the FerryBox workshop on Monday afternoon (30.9.) and Thursday morning (3.10.). Topics will cover metrology of fluorescence measurements and plankton imaging. You may register to these workshops using the FeryBoxregistration form. We wish to limit participation in these additional workshops for 30-40 participants.
As limited amount of funding is available through the MINKE project for supporting in-person attendance, we will specifically support participation of young and early career marine scientists and technical staff working on FerryBox observations. Participants wishing to avail of this possibility should fill in the application form. We are able to fund approx. 15, including flight and accommodation expenses.
The workshop program will be updated after the registration deadline.
Please note, that this is an on-site event only and registration is required. The registration is open until 31 August 2024 (1600 UTC+3) but it may close already earlier if the head count reaches 100, so be quick!
