EuroGOOS is seeking a skilled and motivated Policy Officer to join our dynamic team. This high-impact role supports EuroGOOS’s mission to advance European ocean observing and forecasting, contributing to key areas such as ocean knowledge management, science policy support, and observation coordination. This role is an opportunity for an experienced professional to work on projects and initiatives at the forefront of European and international ocean policy.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will:
- Coordinate EuroGOOS activities, including Regional Operational Oceanographic Systems (ROOS), Working Groups (WG), and Task Teams (TT).
- Contribute to the execution of EuroGOOS’s 2030 Strategy, focusing on climate observing, and build partnerships with key international initiatives and ocean observing systems.
- Oversee and support the European Ocean Observing System (EOOS) activities, especially within the EOOS Framework Steering Group, including event organisation, reporting, and communications.
- Manage and participate in EuroGOOS-led and partnered EC projects, tracking project progress, coordinating meetings, drafting reports, and representing EuroGOOS in project-related forums.
- Organise EuroGOOS workshops, webinars, and conferences, ensuring effective planning, documentation, and reporting.
Key Qualifications
- Extensive experience in ocean observations, operational oceanography, or science policy.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at the national, regional, and pan-European levels.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in organizing meetings, producing reports, and maintaining project timelines.
