To celebrate the 40th anniversary of its foundation IO-BAS along with partners organized an International Conference on Regional Ocean Research to share achievements and outline future prospects in marine science during the next decade. In line with the recent advance in ocean science and technologies and important science-policy developments such as Horizon 2020, the International forum, held in Varna, Bulgaria 17-20 September, brought together scientists, industry and policy representatives to address key research topics and promote international collaboration in marine science with special focus on the Black Sea, European and adjacent seas.
The EuroGOOS Office attended and assisted in organizing a dedicated session on the developments within EMODnet with a focus on how the Black Sea can increase their contribution to all EMODnet lots.
