The conference will consider the role of maritime spatial planning (MSP) as a tool to address challenges and develop opportunities in the relationship between maritime economic activities and environmental protection, in a context of growing and competing uses of marine space. The main purpose is to share experiences of MSP with representatives of maritime industries, national authorities and environmental and other NGOs and to take stock of the expectations and requirements of the stakeholders.
