OceanPrediction DCC Global Hybrid Event 2026

The OceanPrediction DCC Global Hybrid Event 2026 will bring together a diverse international community working at the forefront of ocean forecasting, including scientists, regional teams, early-career professionals, institutions, and partner organizations. The event offers a valuable opportunity to connect across regions, exchange knowledge and experiences, and contribute to discussions on the future of ocean prediction.

In partnership with the ECOP Programme, the event will explore the importance of ocean forecasting in different regional contexts and its role in supporting climate resilience, coastal safety, food security, ecosystem protection, and sustainable ocean governance. The event will showcase the current landscape of ocean forecasting, highlighting regional innovations, operational systems, and real-world applications.

The event’s program is being designed by the ECOPs at each Regional Team. This will result in innovative and participatory sessions, one per region, each of which will be different from the previous.

Participants will discover the role of OceanPrediction DCC in driving coordination, capacity development, and knowledge sharing through intergenerational dialogue, as well as how regional teams contribute to this global effort. The event will also provide pathways to join the community and access tools, resources, and products available through the OceanPrediction DCC platform.
