OceanEye International Alliance: High-Level Pledging Event for Global Ocean Observation at UNGA81

A High-Level Pledging Event for the OceanEye International Alliance: Stronger Together for Ocean Observation will take place on 23 September 2026 in New York, during the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81) High-Level Week.
Hosted by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, in partnership with IOC-UNESCO and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the event will bring together Heads of State and Government, civil society partners and UN organisations.
The OceanEye International Alliance aims to strengthen long-term support for the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) by mobilising financial and in-kind contributions, sustaining ocean observation infrastructure, closing critical observation gaps and strengthening international coordination.
