Convention on Biological Diversity COP17

The 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP17) will take place in Yerevan, Armenia, bringing together governments, international organisations, researchers, civil society, Indigenous Peoples, and other stakeholders.

As the main decision-making body of the Convention on Biological Diversity, COP17 will advance discussions on the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and global efforts to halt and reverse biodiversity loss. The conference is expected to address issues of direct relevance to marine and coastal ecosystems, including biodiversity monitoring, indicators, data collection, ecosystem restoration, and science-based approaches to conservation and sustainable use.
