EuroGOOS publishes new flyer introducing the EOV Network
16 August 2026
EuroGOOS is pleased to announce the publication of a new flyer introducing the EOV Network, bringing together three Horizon Europe projects, ObsSea4Clim, BioGeoSea, and BioEcoOcean, to promote collaboration and alignment around Essential Ocean Variables (EOVs) across scientific domains.
The flyer provides a concise introduction to Essential Ocean Variables, the key measurements needed to monitor the state, variability, and health of the ocean, and presents the objectives of the EOV Network. Leveraging the EOV framework, the network aims to advance a more integrated and fit-for-purpose ocean observing system capable of supporting research, operational services, and policy needs.
In addition, the flyer includes a practical EOV reference table, offering an overview of the different EOVs across physical, biogeochemical, biological and ecosystem domains.
