High Level Event: OceanEye: From Vision to Implementation
Date: 10 June 2026 - 10 June 2026
Type: Virtual
As part of the Digital Ocean Week (8-12 June), organised by our member Mercator Ocean International, the high-level event “OceanEye: From Vision to Implementation” will take place on 10 June 2026 from 17:30 to 19:00.
The event will bring together representatives of the European Commission and Permanent Representations, Members of the European Parliament, and key stakeholders from across the marine and maritime sectors to discuss the implementation of the European ocean observing initiative.
Combining high-level political exchanges with perspectives from across the ocean observation-to-service delivery chain, the programme will also feature a live demonstration of the European Digital Twin Ocean, powered by satellite and in situ ocean data. The event will showcase Europe’s ability to transform ocean knowledge into actionable intelligence in direct support of the European Ocean Pact.
A panel discussion with Members of the European Parliament, moderated by Geneviève Pons-Deladrière of Europe Jacques Delors, will explore the implementation of OceanEye and its alignment with the forthcoming Multiannual Financial Framework.
