Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership Rolling Transnational Access Call to Research Infrastructures 2026-2028

Researchers, innovators and organisations working in the blue economy are invited to apply for the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP) Rolling Transnational Access Call to Research Infrastructures (2026–2028). The call offers access to a unique network of marine and maritime research infrastructures across Europe, supporting cutting-edge research and innovation for a more sustainable blue economy.

The call is open from 20 February 2026 until 29 February 2028, with rolling submissions and cut-off dates every four months.

Next application deadline: 20 October 2026 at 11:00 CEST

The second application window is now open. Applicants who submitted proposals during the first cut-off will be informed of the evaluation results in September 2026.

Access world-class marine research infrastructures

Through this initiative, applicants can access approximately 50 marine and maritime Research Infrastructures (RIs) located across the Atlantic Ocean, North Sea, Baltic Sea, Black Sea and Mediterranean Sea.

Available facilities include:

  • Research vessels
  • Fixed platforms and experimental stations
  • Mobile platforms (AUVs, gliders and aircraft)
  • Analytical laboratories and test benches
  • High-performance computing and digital facilities
  • Portable scientific equipment
  • Virtual laboratories and data infrastructures

Access can be provided through:

  • Physical (hands-on) access
  • Remote access operated by RI staff
  • Virtual access to digital research environments
