Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership launches 4th Joint Transnational Call

The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP) has launched its Fourth Joint Transnational Call, “Building a sustainable and innovative Blue Economy: mastering digital opportunities and fostering resilience”, with an estimated total budget of €38 million.
The call will support transnational research and innovation projects of up to 36 months that contribute to a climate-neutral, sustainable, resilient and innovative blue economy in Europe. Projects should address one of four priority areas:
- Transitioning blue economy sectors for sustainability and strategic autonomy
- Managing sea uses by advancing digital and ecosystem-based approaches
- Promoting sustainable blue bioresources through innovation in marine production and harvesting
- Building resilience in coastal communities, infrastructure and businesses
Projects are expected to be impact-driven and contribute to the transition towards a more resilient blue economy and carbon neutrality. Proposals are also encouraged to consider at least two European sea basins, with the Baltic Sea, Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea, North Sea and Atlantic Ocean identified among the recommended areas.
The deadline for pre-proposals is 16 November 2026 at 15:00 CET. Selected applicants will be invited to submit full proposals, with the deadline currently foreseen for 14 June 2027.
