Have your say: Two opportunities to contribute to the future of ocean and climate observing

20 October 2026

The ocean observing community is invited to contribute to two ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening the coordination and long-term sustainability of ocean and climate observations at European and global levels.

ECOO Survey on Coordination of European Ocean Observing

As part of the Enhancing Coordination and Synergies in the Field of Ocean Observation in the EU (ECOO) study, a survey has been launched to gather input on the coordination of European ocean observing activities.

The survey provides an opportunity for stakeholders across the ocean observing community to share their perspectives and contribute to identifying opportunities for improved coordination and collaboration.

Deadline: 29 October 2026

Participate in the ECOO survey

GCOS Public Review: Status Report and High-Priority Action Plan

The Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) is inviting contributions to the public review of its Status Report and High-Priority Action Plan.

These documents will help inform future priorities for global climate observations, including sustained ocean observations. Contributions from the ocean observing community are important to ensure that the recommendations reflect scientific priorities, operational challenges and users' needs.
