EuroGOOS at Land-Sea 2026: Join the conversation in Brussels

1 September 2026

On 30 September 2026, the Land-Sea 2026 Conference will bring together the ocean observing community in Brussels to discuss how we can strengthen observations across the land-sea interface and work towards a shared observation strategy.

Under the theme “Shaping an observation strategy together,” Land-Sea 2026 will gather scientists, decision-makers, regional stakeholders and local community partners to exchange knowledge and contribute to the development of a Common Observation Strategy for the land-sea interface.

Organised by the EU-funded LandSeaLot project, the conference will showcase progress and experiences from across Europe, including LandSeaLot’s nine Integration Labs. The programme will explore regional approaches, innovative and cost-effective observing technologies, citizen science, and opportunities to better connect existing observation efforts.

EuroGOOS Secretary General Renuka Badhe will contribute to the panel discussion “Implementing a common strategy throughout the value chain”, taking place from 15:15 to 16:15. The panel will explore how the Land-Sea Interface Common Observation Strategy (LCOS) can support and strengthen initiatives and services across the knowledge value chain at the land-sea interface.

The event will take place at the Institute of Natural Sciences in Brussels, Belgium, on 30 September 2026.

Registration is open until 15 September 2026.
