EuroGOOS and EOOS submit their responses to the Ocean Act Call for Evidence

EuroGOOS and EOOS have recently submitted their responses to the Ocean Act Call for Evidence, contributing to the consultation process supporting the development of the European Ocean Act.

The European Ocean Act aims to strengthen and modernise maritime spatial planning as a strategic tool to support and implement the priorities of the European Ocean Pact. It seeks to enhance cross-sectoral coordination at national level, promote a more structured sea-basin approach, and improve ocean observation governance. The Act will also reference existing binding targets, support their effective and consistent implementation, and streamline reporting obligations.

The EuroGOOS response was prepared with the active collaboration of its members, whose contributions were essential to ensuring that the views, priorities, and recommendations of the community were well represented.

The EOOS response was developed by the EOOS Steering Group, which prepared a joint contribution on behalf of the group, ensuring a coordinated and strategic perspective.
