10th Copernicus Marine Ocean State Report released

The 10th edition of the Copernicus Marine Ocean State Report (OSR10) has been released, providing the latest scientific assessment of the state and ongoing changes of the global ocean and European regional seas.
Published as part of the Copernicus Marine Service, OSR10 brings together satellite and in situ observations, ocean data and scientific analysis to support understanding of ocean change and informed decision-making.
The report addresses key developments including ocean warming, marine heatwaves, sea level, salinity and marine ecosystems, as well as extreme events and their impacts on society. Among its findings, OSR10 highlights an exceptional year for the Mediterranean Sea in 2024, which experienced more marine heatwave days than any other year in the previous two decades.
