Strengthen your data skills to shape a sustainable ocean future – we show you how!
Join our dedicated training for Early-Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs) to explore how to apply the principles of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), CARE (Collective Benefit, Authority to Control, Responsibility, Ethics), and TRUST (Transparency, Responsibility, User Focus, Sustainability, Technology) in marine data management.
This training is designed to equip ECOPs with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to contribute to equitable and transparent marine data systems. Participants will follow the full marine information value cycle – from ocean observation and modelling to data services and user needs and learn how to embed good practices in every step of the process. We will also discuss the importance of sharing research and knowledge through Ocean Literacy and Citizen Science initiatives.
This four-part training will take place online over four consecutive afternoons. Each session blends expert insights, real-world case studies, and hands-on exercises.
This training is organised by EuroGOOS and VLIZ in support of the EU4Ocean Coalition and the UN Ocean Decade, who are bringing together diverse organisations, projects, and individuals committed to advancing sustainable and inclusive ocean knowledge systems.
