ONE-BLUE: Engaging Young Europeans through Ocean Literacy

Date: 29 October 2026 - 29 October 2026

Type: Hybrid

As part of European Maritime Day in My Country 2026, the ONE-BLUE project is organising an event dedicated to exploring how marine research, science communication, and ocean literacy can inspire younger generations to engage in ocean protection.

The event, “ONE-BLUE: Engaging Young Europeans through Ocean Literacy”, will bring together experts from IDAEA-CSIC, the European Commission (EU4Ocean), EuroGOOS, STARTS AquaMotion, PartArt4OW, and Oceanographies Collective to discuss innovative approaches to making ocean science more accessible and engaging.

Drawing on ONE-BLUE’s research into emerging contaminants in marine ecosystems across the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Arctic, the session will highlight the importance of connecting scientific knowledge with society and encouraging young Europeans to actively participate in ocean conservation.

Join the discussion and discover how ocean literacy and creative approaches can strengthen the connection between marine science and the next generation.
