The NOOS Sensors and Observations Working Group announces a workshop on Wave buoy network management
What is it about?
At the 2025 NOOS Annual Meeting, Dr. Thomas Dhoop (CCO, UK) presented work on the long-term optimisation of wave buoy monitoring networks. Both the specific ideas for improving wave buoy networks and the broader concept of maintenance optimisation were recognised as valuable topics for further development within the NOOS community.
Expected outcomes
This online meeting will prepare the ground for an in-person meeting on the same topic, hosted at the National Oceanography Centre (Southampton, UK) in 2026.
Who should join?
Representatives of national oceanographic monitoring networks in the NOOS region who operate wave buoys.
The meeting wil take place online, and a participation link will be provided.
