Date: 15 June 2026 - 15 June 2026
Type: In-Person
JPI Climate will host a side event during the meetings of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) in Bonn on 16 June.
Building on the outcomes of the Equinox Stocktake, the event will explore current developments and future challenges related to global climate observation systems. Discussions will focus on the role of climate observations in supporting climate science, policy development and informed decision-making.
The event provides an opportunity for researchers, policymakers and stakeholders to exchange views on emerging priorities and strengthen dialogue around the future of climate observation systems.
Expected contributions are from JPI Climate, the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMBFTR), the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), and the European Space Agency (ESA).
