Date: 11 September 2026

Type: In-Person

A Story of Penguins, Floats and Balloons in Antarctica is a public engagement event organised by the National Antarctic Scientific Center of Ukraine (NASC) and hosted at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences in Brussels.

The event will showcase the work of NASC in the Southern Ocean and Antarctica. Through presentations, videos, and discussions with researchers, participants will explore how climate change is affecting the Southern Ocean and Antarctic ecosystems, including research on penguin populations, ocean observations using Argo floats, and atmospheric monitoring. The event will highlight how Antarctic observations contribute to our understanding of global climate and ocean change.

The event is organised within the framework of the Horizon Europe project OCEAN ICE and is open to the public. Registration is required. Further information and registration details are available on the event page.
