2026 GEO Symposium and GEO-21 Plenary
Date: 26 May 2026 - 28 May 2026
Type: In-Person
From 26 to 28 May 2026, the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) will host the 2026 GEO Symposium and GEO-21 Plenary in Geneva, Switzerland, at the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
The event will take place at a pivotal moment in the implementation of GEO’s Post-2025 Strategy and will bring together a broad community of stakeholders, including governments, space agencies, research organisations, private-sector innovators, and development partners.
Under the theme “Investing in Earth Intelligence for a Resilient Future”, the Symposium will explore how Earth Intelligence (EI) can support transformative and resilient solutions for people and the planet. The programme will feature user stories demonstrating the value of EI in addressing real-world challenges, highlight open data and open knowledge as foundations for EI solutions, benchmark best practices in co-designing products and services, foster new partnerships, and mobilise investments that benefit users and GEO Work Programme activities.
The GEO Symposium will be complemented by the GEO-21 Plenary and a range of Community Events, Showcases, Posters, and News Releases, with GEO community members encouraged to contribute proposals as part of the registration process.
Official GEO Plenary Delegates attending in person do not need to register. All other in-person participants are required to register. The GEO Symposium and open GEO Plenary sessions will also be live streamed.
Registration will close on 31 March 2026.
