About the Session

This session, led by our member Mercator Ocean International, will highlight the Copernicus Marine Service and the European Digital Twin of the Ocean (DTO), two major European initiatives advancing ocean monitoring, prediction, and digital innovation.

Key topics include:

  • Ocean modelling and data assimilation
  • Integration of satellite and in situ observations
  • Verification, validation, and uncertainty estimation
  • Next-generation ocean monitoring and forecasting systems, including Arctic monitoring, ensemble forecasting, and regional ocean climate projections
  • New services for the coastal ocean and marine biology
  • Development of digital tools and infrastructures within the European DTO, combining high-performance computing and artificial intelligence

The session welcomes contributions from research teams and projects involved in Copernicus Marine, the DTO, Horizon Europe, OceanPredict, and UN Decade programmes.

We encourage our members and the broader community to submit their abstracts and participate in this important event.
