EMODnet Atlantic Checkpoint Progress Meeting

The EMODnet Atlantic Checkpoint is assessing how the current marine data services can address concrete user applications. The checkpoint assesses the upstream data against 11 important challenges relevant to sustainable blue growth. The challenges are:

  • Windfarm Siting;
  • Marine Protected Areas;
  • Oil Platform Leaks;
  • Climate Change;
  • Coastal Management;
  • Fishery Management;
  • Fishing Impacts;
  • Eutrophication;
  • River Inputs;
  • Bathymetry;
  • Alien Species.

The Atlantic Checkpoint will clarify the data collection and warehousing landscape, build fitness-for-use indicators showing the accessibility and usability of data, and deliver priorities and recommendations for this European basin.
