ICOS Science Conference: Observing for the Future of our Planet

Date
27/09/2016 - 29/09/2016

ICOS is a pan-European research infrastructure providing harmonized and high-precision scientific data on carbon cycle and greenhouse gas budget and perturbations. ICOS data is openly available at the Carbon Portal which is being developed as a one-stop shop for all ICOS data products.

The 2nd ICOS Science Conference titled ‘Observing for the Future of our Planet‘ is open for all those interested in research on greenhouse gases, biogeochemical cycles and climate change. The event will address some of the key topics in the greenhouse gases and biogeochemical cycles research including:

  • Regions and hotspots;
  • Long time series, experiments and modelling;
  • New development in observation techniques and new scientific questions; and
  • After COP21: Challenges towards a global observation and verification system.

A special session on Communicating Climate will take place adressing effective communication and discussion between environmental science and end-users.

EuroGOOS Communications Officer Dina Eparkhina will attend the conference and also meet with the ICOS Communications Unit, within the expert exchange activities of the Horizon 2020 ENVRI Plus project.
